Bettye Ruth Kay Legacy Society

The BRK Society is a group pledged to ensure the programs and services at Bittersweet Farms continue for future generations. This is a unique group that has included a gift for Bittersweet Farms in their long range planning. BSF Insta 0716 6

A planned gift can be made in a variety of ways. Bittersweet Farms can provide you with more information about how planned giving can benefit your family.

How Can I Help?

A family can make a gift in their trust or will to Bittersweet Farms. A gift can include a certain personal property or real estate, a specific sum of money, or a percentage of estates assets. We do have sample “bequest clauses” available upon request.

Retirement Funds
Retirement funds may be the most notable asset for many families. Individuals may name Bittersweet Farms as a beneficiary for all or portion of funds remaining at death.

Life Insurance
Bittersweet Farms may be included as a beneficiary, contingency beneficiary, or owner of a new or existing policy. When the added protection of an insurance policy is no longer needed, transferring the policy’s ownership to Bittersweet Farms can result in tax benefits for you and a generous gift for Bittersweet Farms.

Direct Gifts of Cash
A gift of cash, or publicly traded securities can be given to Bittersweet Farms. You will receive an income tax receipt for your donation and may save capital gains taxes.

Personal Benefits
Donors benefit from planned giving by becoming eligible for tax and estate planning advantages. Donors also benefit from knowing their gift will ensure the development and growth of Bittersweet Farms.

One of our greatest aspirations in life is to leave a legacy and to make a difference. Through your care and commitment, you can help ensure Bittersweet Farms can continue to provide premier services to individuals with autism.  Your contribution can help make sure Bittersweet Farms has a secure future.  You will be recognized and respected as a community builder for years to come.
