While it may be helpful, it is not necessary to have previous experience serving individuals with autism. Interested candidates should, however, already possess the work ethic and compassion required for this unique environment. Additionally, year-round outdoor and physical activity is an important part of Bittersweet’s philosophy and farmstead model. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and walk up to five miles.

Community Outreach Specialist- Lima, Ohio

Bittersweet Farms is seeking a part-time Community Outreach Specialist for our Lima, Ohio location. The Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for coordinating recreational services to the community and working with adolescent participants. This position requires evening availability from 5:00PM-8:00PM and weekends. This is a part-time role, working 12 hours per month. Ability to work on-call DSP shifts during our day program is strongly preferred.

Summer Direct Support Professional- 2nd/3rd Shift- Whitehouse, Ohio

Bittersweet is seeking seasonal staff to work part-time, 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm, or 3rd shift 11:00pm - 8:30am. Direct Support Professionals teach, mentor and positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities by assisting with activities of daily living, promoting independence, facilitating various methods of communication, and so much more!

This is a seasonal summer position with two available working schedules: May to August 2024 or June to September 2024. (Seasonal employees must work a minimum of 90 days.)

Janitorial & Maintenance Specialist- Whitehouse, Ohio

Bittersweet is seeking a Janitorial & Maintenance Specialist. This position customarily works first shift hours (8AM-4PM) however, needs may arise outside of regular hours, such as snow removal needs or maintenance emergencies. This full time position will perform various janitorial, maintenance, and grounds keeping functions within the facilities of Bittersweet while assisting in the maintenance department as needed.
