Bittersweet Farms to Be Featured on National Television Show, Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid
Whitehouse, OH…Throughout 2024, local nonprofit organization Bittersweet Farms will be featured on the national television show Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid. Viewpoint is a short-form educational television show distributed nationwide and the recipient of several Telly awards.
Bittersweet was chosen as a featured organization on Viewpoint due to its groundbreaking farmstead model for serving adults with autism—the first in the United States. The short-form documentary explores Bittersweet’s more than 40 years of demonstrated success in transformative, person-centered autism services within the unique setting of a working farmstead.
The Viewpoint episode features interviews with industry experts, a testimonial from a parent whose adult daughter is served by Bittersweet, and extensive footage of Bittersweet’s services in action. It captures the potency of Bittersweet’s model and mission, as well as the organization’s national impact. The short-form documentary also offers invaluable insights for others in the autism and disability communities seeking inspiration, direction, and connection.
Bittersweet Interim Executive Director, Lisa Lulfs, says, “As the first farmstead program in the United States, Bittersweet has long been nationally known and world-renowned. To demonstrate our one-of-a-kind model on Viewpoint is an honor, and we are thrilled to advance the cause of holistic, farmstead-based autism services on a national scale. We hope viewers find inspiration and hope in our story, and we look forward to connecting with others in the autism community across the nation and around the world.”
The segment will be distributed nationally to public television stations throughout 2024, and additional content can be found online at www.bittersweetfarms.org.
