Volunteer

Positively impact lives by volunteering at Bittersweet!

We love partnering with individuals and groups from the local community. Our volunteers have the life-changing opportunity to meet Bittersweet participants and engage in meaningful and rewarding work, all in a beautiful farmstead setting.

If you or your company/organization is interested in volunteering, please contact Mandy Brown to begin the volunteer screening and application process!

Please note: We do not currently have any volunteer opportunities for minors. Please check our website and social platforms for updates as they become available.

Volunteer opportunities at Bittersweet include:

Currently, our greatest need for volunteers is in our growing Social & Recreational Program (SRP)! These include evening & weekend opportunities in both the Whitehouse/Toledo area and the Lima area. To learn more about volunteering in SRP, contact Katie Kuntz-Wineland at kkuntz-wineland@bittersweetfarms.org or 419-262-3206.

Andrew Kranjec, a volunteer in the Social & Recreational Program, shares his experience volunteering at Bittersweet:

"I initially started volunteering when I got an assignment in school. We were told to step out of our comfort zones and try something new.  With that in the back of my mind, I decided to try mentoring with Bittersweet Farms. I started because of a school assignment, but I stayed because of the people, smiling faces, and the fun. Everyone that I have met and become friends with are wonderful people.  They are energetic, nice, funny, and most importantly friendly."
