Pemberville Transitional Program

Bittersweet Pemberville proudly serves adolescents on the autism spectrum from across Northwest Ohio.

Transition Program

Bittersweet’s Pemberville location is home to a cutting-edge Transition Program, which serves students with autism ages 12-22. Bittersweet partners with local school districts to provide educational services to each student based on their unique needs, enabling them to complete their high school education. The funding for these services comes from the home school district, and upon completion of the Transition Program, students receive their high school diploma from their home school district.

The skilled team at Bittersweet Pemberville includes an Intervention Specialist, who works with the home school district, student, and family to develop and implement an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student. In addition to traditional academic study, Bittersweet’s Transition Program focuses on developing life skills to ensure a successful transition from school to adulthood for each student.

Extended School Year

In addition to the Transition Program, Bittersweet offers an Extended School Year program for students in Pemberville. This program lasts for six weeks and provides the recreational activities of a traditional summer camp alongside individualized academic enrichment opportunities.
