Go for the Gold! Bittersweet Resident Adds Two Gold Medals to Her Collection
Whitehouse, OH… For the 13th year, Bittersweet Farms resident and renowned National Special Olympian, Beth Meyer, competed in the Special Olympics Skiing Competition. The competition took place at Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, IN on January 9-10th. Beth was thrilled to bring home the gold in two events: Unified Slalom and Unified Giant Slalom. This accomplishment comes on the heels of her silver medal win in swimming at the Special Olympics USA Games in June 2022.
As she adds her two newest medals to the rest of her collection, Beth’s pride is evident: “I am very happy to bring home two more gold medals! I love my giant collection of medals. They have taken me many years to earn and I am so proud.”
Beth’s accomplishments are, indeed, the result of countless hours of training and hard work. From December 18-22, 2022, she trained at the Boyne Mountain Resort, receiving two-hour private lessons daily from experienced ski instructors. Each year, Beth’s training and stay at Boyne Mountain Resort is generously donated by a number of donors who make her dream possible. Mr. Gino Chiappetta arranges and donates funds each year to offer Beth this incredible opportunity. The Boyne Ski School, Michigan Alpine Competition Council (MACC), and Toledo Ski Club also provide support for her to train at Boyne Mountain Resort.
Of this unparalleled training opportunity, Beth says, “I look forward to my trip to Boyne Mountain every year. Swimming and skiing are my life! It is great exercise and the training I receive at Boyne Mountain helps prepare me to compete and win. I’m so thankful to Gino, Boyne Mountain, the Toledo Ski Club, and MACC for sponsoring me each year.”
