Bittersweet Farms and Avenues for Autism Present “In a Different Key”

Maumee, OH…Bittersweet Farms and Avenues for Autism are proud to present an exclusive screening of the film, In a Different Key, ahead of the national release in December. The screening will take place at the Maumee Indoor Theatre (601 Conant St., Maumee, OH 43537) on Thursday, October 6th at 7pm.

This is the only screening in the state of Ohio, and the event will include in-person Q&A and discussion with the film’s directors, John Donvan and Caren Zucker. Seating is limited and tickets are available by invitation and pre-sale only. Attendees must be 13 or older.

In a Different Key is “a true story of love, autism, and the fight to belong.” The film follows a mother as she discovers that the first-ever person diagnosed with autism is still living, connects with him, learns about his life story, and ultimately finds promise for her own son and others on the autism spectrum through this experience.

As premier nonprofit organizations serving the local autism community, Bittersweet Farms and Avenues for Autism are pleased to offer this film screening as an opportunity for education, awareness, advocacy, and support. Community leaders, families touched by autism, and those interested in supporting this cause are encouraged to attend.

Bittersweet Farms Executive Director, Dustin Watkins, says, “We are honored to partner with Avenues for Autism to bring In a Different Key to Ohio. With this poignant film and conversation with the directors to follow, we hope to expand the dialogue about autism acceptance and inclusion in our local community. Special thanks to our sponsor, Fifth Third Bank, for their support of this event and important cause.”

Stacy Harper, Executive Director of Avenues for Autism, says, “In a Different Key is a heartwarming story of a community accepting others for who they are and celebrating each person’s unique qualities. I have seen it first-hand: Together we can make a meaningful difference in our community. This movie teaches us how easy it is to make a difference through acceptance and love. My hope is that everyone who attends this premier leaves inspired and ready to make an impact locally to support our friends with autism.”

Tickets are $10/each at www.bittersweetfarms.org or www.avenuesforautism.org/in-a-different-key. This event is pre-sale only with limited seating.
