On a cold day in late December, the community at Betty’s Farm, Bittersweet’s Lima location, gathered to break ground for a dream to become reality: an animal barn! The story began long before with a bold vision, rooted in Bittersweet’s farmstead model. Betty’s Farm would provide a safe home for local rescue farm animals, in turn providing therapeutic animal care opportunities for individuals with autism at Betty’s Farm.
Sheldon Brings Home the Gold and Inspires the World
Sheldon took his bowling expertise on the road to Columbus, where he earned a gold medal in the Special Olympics State Summer Games!
A Colorful Dream 40 Years in the Making
This year, Steve's decades of dedication paid off with an invitation from the Toledo Lucas County Public Library for a solo art exhibition at the Sanger Branch featuring a commissioned series of owl paintings. In June, Steve spread his wings, sharing his works of art with the community through a month-long exhibition at the Sanger Branch.

Tammy Bolley-Chambers arrived at Bittersweet Farms in December 1985, just two and a half years after our founding in June 1983. Tammy remains our longest tenured employee, with 37 years of service to the Bittersweet mission.
